About Mateenah Cares

Get to know Mateenah Cares

Mateenah Cares is a youth-centered nonprofit dedicated to advancing mental health, emotional wellbeing, and gender equity, with a special focus on empowering young women and girls across communities. We understand that mental health is not just a medical issue—it’s a social, emotional, and cultural conversation that demands openness, empathy, and action.

We believe that caring starts with listening. That means listening to stories, struggles, silences, and solutions shared by young people—especially those who have been historically unheard or overlooked.

Through inclusive dialogue, creative education, and community-led advocacy, we are on a mission to dismantle stigma, nurture safe spaces, and provide practical tools that allow youth to thrive—emotionally, mentally, and socially.
Whether it's tackling period stigma, providing access to counseling, or equipping girls with self-care knowledge, Mateenah Cares exists as a soft force for powerful change.

Our work lives at the intersection of mental health, menstrual hygiene, and emotional literacy, because we believe true wellness is holistic and everyone deserves to feel seen, supported, and safe.
